We could start with fighting for justice for the Palestinians...and hopefully, eventually for our own oppressed people, American Indians. I have been a fundamentalist christian for over 30 yrs., was well grounded in the biblical premise of Israel being an eternal homeland for the Jews, etc. But, of late, I have been undergoing a search for truth, a search which comes from a need to see less christian war-mongering by the religious right, and more love and humanity being exhibited by the follower of Jesus and our forefathers, the jewish people. I am scratching the surface, but from what I have been learning so far, I am making a radical departure from my former views. Wish me luck on my quest for more truth and salaam alekum.

I am 42 years old & of 1/2 Jewish heritage. I remember as a small child hearing of the state of Israel and how "Wonderful" it was. Even then I didn't understand what it had to do with me, an American. Oh so very sad that innocent people suffer because of what Hitler did in Europe. And now, because of our conflict in the Middle East most American people are so quick to judge with a closed heart. The English language poetry on this site is greatly appreciated.
